Hardware Support

Help Desk support is only offered for FULL Light-O-Rama systems. We do NOT provide support for using hardware/lights from other manufacturers with our software, or for configuring our hardware in non-LOR software.

Please be as detailed as possible when asking your question - about what's wrong AND what you've already done to troubleshoot.

If you are having HARDWARE OR EQUIPMENT issues, be sure to tell us exactly what equipment you have so we can help resolve the issue faster, as well exactly what you've done to troubleshoot so far.

The two most common hardware problems are failing triacs (lights stay dimly lit when they should be off), or that an RJ-45 port has come loose and is causing data connection problems for the rest of the controllers on your network (this is caused by improper removal/tugging of a Cat5 line, which can be caused by not fully pressing down on the release tab of the wire before removal from the report, or if your lines are exposed without slack and an animal pulls them loose).

These problems generally require that you send the item in for repair, which can take 2-4 weeks in the off season and up to 8 weeks from the time we receive your equipment during the fall. If you are in need of a repair from October through December, we suggest moving the element on the failing channel (bad triac) to an open, unused channel, or using an RJ45 Ethernet Adapter Splitter to bypass the loose RJ-45 port if you are not able to physically move the controller to the end of your daisy chain (which only requires connecting the remaining good port).

Only one question at a time on the help desk, please. Do not submit duplicate tickets on the same issue. Tickets submitted on the weekends and evenings (outside of business hours) will have a delay in response time.

Online Communities and Support

In November & December, we get dozens of help desk tickets per hour. The Light-O-Rama user community is a great resource (and you might get a faster answer during those times!)
